Farms & Markets

Ithaca is incredibly lucky to be home to many farms providing a dazzling array of produce, meat, dairy products, and specialty items like honey, soaps, and textiles. Our area is rich with agricultural history and innovation, thanks in part to our proximity to and relationship with Cornell University. Though many of these farms are small-scale and family-owned, they are taking huge steps toward fostering a sustainable food network here in Ithaca.

The Ithaca area is also home to many farmers' markets that help bring these products to you! We're proud of our local farms, farm stands, and markets and invite you to explore them as part of your Ithaca journey.

Farm-to-Fork Dining

Ithaca and Tompkins County are overflowing with natural culinary bounties, from local wines, to produce, to creameries that make cheese right on the farm. Many of our chefs and restaurateurs are embracing the Farm-to-Table dining movement, working with farms, orchards, and butcheries to serve up locally-sourced menus with ingredients and products from our very own backyard. There are even a number of dining options that grow their own ingredients onsite, with greenhouses and gardens you can view from their patios or balconies while you enjoy the freshest meal – one that's gone straight from the farm to your fork!
